Troton 2K-Acid primer, 1.2L

What is acid primer?

Troton chromate-free acid primer (0.8 L) and activator (0.4 L) provide an excellent adhesion base and rust protection. It is suitable for fibreglass, zinc, aluminium and other steel surfaces. We also recommend Troton V2007 filler over the acid primer.

• Mixing ratio: 2:1
• After mixing, let the paint stand for 10–15 minutes before spraying
• Spray viscosity: 17–19 s DIN 4, 20 °C
• Pot life: 24 hours at 20 °C
• Nozzle size: 1.2–1.4 mm
• Coats: 1–2 thin coats. The paint does not cover, so the substrate shows through.
• Dry film thickness: 30–40 µm
• Flash-off time: approx. 5–10 minutes between coats, approx. 15–30 minutes before spraying the filler
• Drying time at 20 °C: dust-dry in approx. 15 minutes, dry in approx. one hour

What is painted over the acid primer?

Top coat must not be applied directly over the acid primer. For example, apply a filler or a wet-on-wet primer on top.

Epoxy primer must not be applied over acid primer.

Does acid primer cover?
No. The substrate shows through, so spray 1–2 thin coats.

How long can the paint be used after mixing?
24 hours at 20 °C. Let the paint stand for 10–15 minutes before spraying.

Which nozzle size is suitable?
1.2–1.4 mm.
