Description: Cause:

  1. Insufficient sanding of the filler.

  2. Incorrect grit size of sandpaper.

  3. The filler absorbs too much paint because no primer was applied before filler application.

  4. Excessively thick filler layer that has not properly dried before the next coating.

  5. Excessive shrinkage of the filler; deformation after drying.

Solution:

  1. Sand the filler layer sufficiently and ensure a smooth and even edge.

  2. Apply a primer coat.

  3. Use a filler that minimizes shrinkage as much as possible.
